Royal Canadian Mounted Police
The RCMP has charged 24-year-old Quebec City resident Louay Angoud with four terrorism-related and weapons offences after an Integrated National Security Enforcement Team investigation. Police allege that Angoud intended to carry out at least one attack in Canada on behalf of the Islamic State, communicated online with members of a terrorist group and gathered information on building a chemical weapon that could be used to poison Canadian citizens. He is charged with using or possessing property for terrorist purposes, committing an offence for a terrorist group, participating in the activity of a terrorist group and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was scheduled to appear in Montréal court on September 24; the allegations have not been proven in court.
