Peel Regional Police say Project Red Zone, an undercover investigation targeting a firearm-trafficking network operating across the GTA, resulted in the seizure of 23 firearms, 824.75 grams of cocaine and more than 950 rounds of ammunition. Fifteen of the firearms were traced to the United States, forensic analysis linked seized guns to 14 shootings across the GTA, and one was connected to a March 2024 Mississauga homicide. Four people have been arrested and charged with offences including firearms trafficking, ammunition trafficking and drug trafficking. The operation ran from October 2025 to July 2026 and involved Peel Regional Police, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario.
